My Migration Story to Dubai as a Latina Mother

I’m Christina — a mother, a migrant, and a woman who decided to rebuild her life from scratch.

I arrived in Dubai during one of the most difficult moments of my life: a divorce, a failed business, debts, and a completely broken sense of identity. It felt like everything I had built was collapsing all at once.

At 32, I found myself starting over from less than zero, in a system like Ecuador’s that doesn’t always offer second chances to women, mothers, and those over 30.

Migrating was not an easy decision. It meant being away from my children, facing fear and loneliness, and starting from the bottom in a completely new country. But it was also the decision that saved me.

Today, I understand that growth is never comfortable and that difficult decisions can also be acts of love. Distance taught me that love isn’t always about physical presence — it’s about sacrifice, intention, and purpose.

Dubai transformed me. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to trust myself. I went from surviving to building: a new career, financial stability, and, above all, a stronger and more self-aware version of myself.

I share my story because I know it’s not just mine. It’s the story of many women who migrate, who are judged, who carry burdens that aren’t theirs, and who, despite it all, keep moving forward.

If you’re here, it’s no coincidence. Perhaps you’re looking for answers, clarity, or simply to feel that you’re not alone. This is my way of saying: yes, it is possible to start over.

My Purpose

To empower migrant women and mothers going through personal or financial crises, helping them understand that it is always possible to rebuild, create new opportunities, and design a purposeful life—even far from home.

The Future I Envision

A world where migrant women feel supported, capable, and free—not weighed down by guilt or limitations—but empowered to create their own path with confidence, emotional strength, and financial independence.
